Our Clinic

We are a group of Melbourne dentists offering services to the local community since 1997. Our dental practice in Melbourne offers services in Preventive Dentistry, General Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry and Emergency Services.

Our Dentists have significant experience in various forms of Dentistry. We can enhance your smile with non extraction and functional orthodontics, Invisalign, Inman Aligners, Veneers & Teeth Whitening (in chair); restore your oral hygiene and teeth with dental cleans, periodontic treatments, implants, root canals and crowns; and support your active lifestyle with custom mouthguards.

Our trusted and experienced dentists will advise you of effective dental solutions with optimum treatment plans which avoid unnecessary costs. The treatment plans will be explained to you in simple terms with full transparency to allow to you make the best decision possible.

Our practice provides a safe and caring environment. We ensure you will be received and cared for appropriately by our friendly and passionate reception and clinical teams. Besides English our staff can also speak Malay, Cantonese, and Hindi languages.

Our Focus is You

We are open on Saturdays to accommodate our patients or parents who prefer to visit during the weekend or cannot visit on week days.

Our practice in located in a convenient location within fifty meters of Malvern Central. We are directly accessible by public transport and situated very close to free public car parks.

Our Dentists

Dr Sui Kong

Dr Sui graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2001 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She has worked mainly in private practices but her interest in children with special needs have also led her to work in the public system. As a dentist she has volunteered in Vietnam and India treating children and Tibetan refugees.

Sui enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a particular interest in fostering a good dentist-patient relationship based on trust and respect. Her aim is to create a relaxing atmosphere where patients are treated holistically in a calm and caring manner.

Outside of dentistry, Sui enjoys surfing, hiking, travelling and having adventures with her daughter.

Dr Gillian Elliott

Dr. Gillian Elliott studied Dentistry at the London University and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and a licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons, in England, where she was born and raised.
She has made Australia her home in 1978, where she’s been living with her husband and two children in Melbourne. Since then, she practiced dentistry at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne, was a clinical demonstrator at the University of Melbourne and examiner for overseas dentists. For the last 20 years, she has been part of our team at Citra Wattletree Dental Practice.

Dr. Elliot has a passion for family dentistry, with a special interest in aesthetic and children’s dentistry. She is focused on prevention and healthy eating well as providing her patients a gentle and caring environment to have the best oral health care for a long lasting smile.

Outside of dentistry, she is an amateur artist and loves theatre and films.

Dr Nashmie Cader

Dr. Nashmie Cader joined the Wattletree team in October 2013. Dr. Cader was born in Sri Lanka but grew up in New Zealand where she graduated from the University of Otago in 2008. Since graduating, she has treated patients in both private and public dental practices.

Dr. Cader is proficient in all areas of general dentistry. Her interests are in advanced restorative dentistry, CEREC, implants and also root canal therapy using modern rotary NiTi equipment. Dr Cader has completed a Graduate Diploma in implants from the University of Melbourne and is able to provide surgical implant placement at the practice.

When she’s not working with patients, Dr. Cader enjoys exercising, baking and travelling.

Dr James Meurant

Dr James has worked in both Public and Private sectors of the Dental industry, and has a wide range of experience in General Dentistry.
James is skilled in restorative and cosmetic dentistry however, still believes the best treatment a dentist can provide is Preventative Treatment. Dr James focuses on working with patients to enable them to reduce their levels of decay and gum disease, setting them up for a lifetime of good dental health, and also offers Invisalign and Angel Aligners, two discreet and comfortable alternatives to traditional braces.

James grew up in QLD and in his spare time, enjoys discovering all that Melbourne has to offer including the restaurants, cultural events and keeping fit through swimming and running.

Dr. Michael Anderson BDSc (Melb)

Michael has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years, after graduating from The University of Melbourne.

He focuses on preventative dentistry with a particular emphasis on maintaining and assisting in oral health programs that he formulates for the individual requirements of his patients.

Outside of dentistry, Michael likes to keep active with daily swims, playing basketball, and trying to keep up with his kids when bike riding and running together. He is also a volunteer coach for a junior domestic basketball team.

Dr Shannon Yap BOralH(DSc), GDipDent

After graduating from Griffith University Queensland, Shannon has spent over ten years in private practice in inner Melbourne.

She is a calm and caring practitioner with a very gentle touch. Shannon is dedicated to providing high-quality general dental care for the whole family.

Outside of work, Shannon likes to cook and spend time with her husband and children.

Our Dental Hygienists

Michelle Azzopardi – Hygienist / Therapist

Michelle has been a member of Wattletree dental for over 20 years and has a true passion in helping people make informed decisions and in achieving optimal oral health.
She has experience not only as a hygienist but also as a dental therapist and dental prosthetist.

Michelle loves adventure, travel, sports and outdoor activities.

Ms. Tracy McLaughlin

Tracy qualified with of the Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Kings College in London in 2000, and has acquired a vast amount of experience and knowledge in the dental field.

For 15 years Tracy practiced in a high profile celebrity based practice. She was part of a specialist team which included dental clinicians, oral surgeons, orthodontists, implant clinician, endodontist, paedodontist and a periodontist.

Tracy has been involved in complex multidisciplinary cases and and continues to work very closely with periodontists, supporting them throughout patient treatment programs and monitoring changes and undertaking all the periodontal charting and maintenance. She has also taken care of patients who were featured on TV and media coverage, educating the public in oral health care.

Tracy is passionate about all aspects of dental health and education, along with a special interest in teeth whitening and cosmetic aspects of dentistry, always keeping up to date with all the latest clinical techniques and knowledge.

In her spare time, Tracy enjoys travelling, skiing and is also a keen scuba diver.

 

Ash Rijal – Oral Health Therapist

Ash is an Oral Health Therapist, graduating from the University of Melbourne, with experience across both public and private settings. She is passionate about creating positive dental experiences through a gentle and empathetic approach to care, helping patients feel at ease while maintaining their oral health.

Outside of work, Ash loves exploring Melbourne’s vibrant food scene and discovering new cafés and hidden gems around the city.
